Suspense is an emotion of anticipation and excitement. It is the feeling of waiting for something to happen, often with a sense of eagerness or dread. If you have been waiting for weeks to hear back about a marriage proposal, you are likely feeling suspense. When the suspense becomes too much to bear, I like to re-read my favorite series slowly, taking no more than one book in the series per day and spacing them out as much as possible.
To avoid leaving anyone in suspense, I eventually followed my editor's advice and rewrote the story before submitting it again. The slow build-up of suspense is one of the best parts of the movie. And just so no one is left hanging, I do not agree with the comparison between Warsaw and Gaza. John commented on the word suspense, and by doing so, helped support Wordnik (and make this page ad-free).
